Most of us know that Lions have never lived in Detroit or that Wizards are rarely spotted in Washington DC, but Pittsburgh residents actually think that Pirates have maintained residency in their city for millennia. Pittsburgh Pirates even have their own special cap, a hat designed for a confederate locomotive engineer, not a fictional river pirate.
This franchise is the only professional sports team to put no thought behind their own branding. All professional Pittsburgh sports team sport yellow and black colors.
If the Pirates front office marketing department did some research the players would be wearing swashbuckling caps with a feather or two. Pirates and their fans are douche bags, but their unique ball caps are excellent identifiers warning others to stay far, far away.
Pirates in Pittsburgh? No way. Penguins and douche bags, you-ins are every where. Arghhhhhh!
